Wixams Parish Council
Wixams can be found 3 miles (5km) south of Bedford. Based upon the site of the former Elstow Storage Depot it will eventually house around 10,000 people. It will represent the single largest development in the county and straddles the border between Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire. Wixams will include a town centre and several “villages” with 4500 homes, 25% of which will be affordable homes, employment land, schools, shops, generous landscaping and recreational space such as sports pitches and allotments and community buildings.
Work on Village 1 is nearly complete and includes a Lower School, community centre and a small parade of shops.
Wixams Parish Council was created on 1st April 2015 and currently has 9 councillors (maximum of 9 at present, increasing to 15 in May 2019) serving the local community. The Parish Council welcomes residents to attend any of their public meetings held, usually, on the third Monday of each month (excluding August) and details of these can be found by clicking on the news & events or calendar pages above. Agendas for each meeting will be available approximately one week before each meeting.
